Downs and Ups

So, for those of you who read this and care, it looks like I'm going to be cancelling my ISP and switching email addresses. This after nearly a decade with the provider I'm currently with. We've been having some difficulties with this provider lately with very little consolation on their part. We use Road Runner, which is a cable-based high speed ISP. I was one of the first to get this service. My addiction.

We'll probably go with Verizon for cable, phone and ISP. I'm just bummed that my email address has to change. Ah well. I think I'll start using the Gmail account exclusively, so this doesn't happen again.

So, that's the down. I woke up this morning and the ISP was down...and it pissed me off.

The up? I got an email from an old friend whom I've looked for off and on over the years. (No, Joy, not that friend.) This is on old college friend who I didn't really know all that well, but we have common memories. I found his wife online on Friday and, ballsy me, emailed her out of the blue. They both emailed back and told their story, giving me a reason to respond with mine. It was just nice to tell my story to someone and know they're smiling like they made me smile. That's the second old friend I've located this year. Wonder who else will be found. Hmmmm.
